Know your project and know your circuit schematic

I have given steps of progressing to assemble electronics schematics on the readymade PCB for ease of work to be carried out in a hassle free manner. As a first step, a brief introduction of the project will be discussed in very brief manner.

Step 1: A brief introduction of the project:

Under this topic very brief information regarding what is the project and its utility and other applications if any will be discussed. Special mention about Transistor/ICs used in the project will be given. You can understand the nature of the project and try to ponder over the circuit schematics and other PCB details.

Step 2: Circuit schematic:

As we select simple electronics projects to build, I intend to present here simple easy to understand schematic diagrams. Complete circuit will be given under this head following with standard nomenclature to be followed. As an illustration I follow R1, R2, R3 etc. as the identification of resistors and C1, C2, C3 etc. for capacitors with appropriate values that are being wired in the diagram. So also with Diodes, Transistors, ICs etc. Critical components details will be given under description head and its characteristics will be discussed under that. As this is the important step in assembling, one should study the circuit carefully observing inter connection of components especially the polarity of the components, pin connections etc.  This approach help the correct hooking up of components to ensure proper functioning of the circuit.  Hence circuit schematic is the basic building plan for successful assembling work.

Step 3: Parts list:

Under this head a list of parts that go into the circuit schematic will be given. This is also carefully noted by project builders as they are going to procure the components for assembly work. The components values, types, tolerances, working voltages along with special requirements if any will be given here. Parts list conforms to the circuit schematic for reference, procurement and building. Total number of components under each type helps one to procure beforehand for hassle free project building.

Step 4: Description of the circuit

In this segment very brief working principle of the circuit schematic will be discussed as it helps to understand how best the design can be assembled for optimum performance. Sometimes certain precautionary measures should be followed while handling delicate transistors and certain ICs and those points will be discussed.   Description of the circuit schematic is vital for novice and beginners of electronics enthusiasts to build successful projects.

Knowing the circuit design, its components and its working principle all go well in successful assembling of any electronics projects. As such these salient features are discussed here. In the coming posts we shall discuss points related to PCB designing and assembling.
