YOU too can do it - fabricate PCB designs and assemble

YOU too can do it - fabricate PCB designs and assemble

We have discussed at length in the previous posts, the various techniques of assembling electronic circuit schematics that are being adopted and from the discussion we understand that the best assembling technique is adopting PCB Printed Circuit Board. We have seen the numerous advantages of PCB technique. No doubt that this technique is widely in use all over the world not only in home product but also a manufacturing process.  As such most of the electronic schematics are being commercially available as ready made PCBs.

Electronics hobbyists and electronics enthusiasts know that to assemble a project of their choice, they can procure the specific electronics schematics based PCBs that are available ready made from the electronics market and start assembling. Here one needs to assemble on the PCB that is designed for that specific circuit only. On this aspect I would like to bring you a few facts to worth considering.

PCBs And You

  • Commercially available PCBs in the electronics market are designed based on specific circuit designs of their choice.
  • As such available PCBs sometimes may not match to our required circuit design
  • Hence one has to procure that available specified design PCB and use it and satisfy oneself.
  • Alterations or modifications are difficult to make on such PCBs.
  • Sometimes equivalent transistors may be replaced with difficulty in the PCB layout if not the one designed is not available.
  • In the case of ICs one cannot substitute with another type as pin numbers and pin configuration itself do not match with the original design.
  • Further Commercially available PCBs are somewhat expensive.
  • Many poor people are not affordable to buy or procure such costly PCBs from the market for their project and start assembling the circuit schematic especially buying one or two PCBs.
  • Many a times PCBs are available in the market only for the big or complicated circuit designs.
  • Students of electronics discipline, electronics enthusiasts like novice and hobbyists may not need complicated circuit designs PCBs to assemble to start with.
  • Such people initially require simple and easy to build circuits most probably at the beginning level small circuits designs to suit their pocket and interest
  • Often students and others opt for simple and easy to build project for their project work either for curriculum based or for revealing their talents in the electronics field during science fetes.
  • Simple and small circuit design PCBs are not easily available in the market to buy.
  • Commercial people do not produce PCBs of simple circuit designs as it is not cost effective and think commercially that it is not profitable to them
  • When on demand for design and preparation, they charge high costs even for a simple design
  • This situation makes the electronics enthusiasts frustrated and give up such simple project to build up.
  • Novice may require one or two PCBs of particular simple circuit designs mostly for self assembly or to his or her friend.
  • As such making a PCB for self use is highly warranted.
  • The technique used for designing such PCBs may not be feasible to all electronics enthusiasts
  • This gap has to be filled up by making available PCBs of simple circuit designs to suit their demands of those keeping in mind the cost, affordability and availability
  • Self making PCBs are always good as they can be easily alter and modify the circuit designs according to one's needs and fulfill the job without any lacunae in their attempt in doing their work.
  • Those who want to assemble such simple circuit schematics should be able to get the PCB design available ready made to fabricate and assembly.
  • It saves time, cost besides joy in self making and self procuring the items for their own do it your-self job.

To fulfill such requirements of ready made PCB designs and in the interests of many electronics enthusiasts, I have started this blog ‘PCB AND YOU’.

In my coming posts I shall try to explain my methodology of getting the PCB design fabricated and assembling hints so that you too can easily build your favourite electronics projects and become self reliant and establish that ‘you too can do it!’.
